    Hi,
    I just got an AL619.
When I try to read Engine DTC I get `Linking Error`.
    BMW 320i E46 year 2002.
I can read SRS and ABS ok.
I think I have updated everything on the AL619 that I can.
I have tried cycling ignition at various times.
Has anyone else had the same problem?

Yeah, this seems to be an other genious quality problem of this tool. There is a general
linking problem in the e46,e53,e39 models.
I feel realy punked ...paying this much for a tool that doesn't work proparly...

You can scsn the engine dtc by using the 'check engine eobd' icon at the very first.
This links by autosearching all protocols.

Still, this is just too poor-jumping around functions.

Update,  I spent some more time with it in the daylight and found a bent pin in the lead.
    All good now.

I have had the same problems, my maxisystem worked fine last week on a e46 320ci, went to the same car yesterday (after updating the system) and wouldn't communicate at all even with obd2, kept asking for the 20 pin lead which the car dosnt use, starting to regret buying this system

No I didn't know I was required to make a back up, since I bought the machine I have
been trying to learn how to use it
