I am working on a 2012 Ford Edge and I am trying to program a new key for it. The maxidas scanner allows me into the PATS program and when I tell it to program a new ignition key, it tells me that it was done successfully. However when I try to use the key to start the vehicle it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? 

 I ended up figuring it out. The Maxidas ended up making me run the PATS program with the unprogramed key instead. The first time I went thru PATS I hit the program ignition key option and it told me failed but then I hit it a second time and it said successful. Cars been starting with both keys ever since. Not sure why it wanted the new key instead of the factory original. But whatever lol. Thanks.
