Should my MaxiDiag 802 elite work on a 2006 TD5 land rover defender?

     I have just received my MaxiDiag 802 elite and can't get it to connect to my 2006 TD5 Land Rover Defender 130. I've checked connections and can find nothing obviously wrong.

    according to the function list, 2006 defender is supported.
