Autel maxisys 809 pro reads only the DME and the transmission module on BMW M3. It doesn't read the vin , we were able to read the other modules like ABS and AIRBAG by another scan tool.

the car model is M3 2002 E46 S54, Any help

I assume you mean Maxisys 908 pro? anyway obd2 plug only reads engine and trans from that plug. You need to use the BMW 20 pin adapter in your kit and plug it into plug in engine compartment.

Thanks for your replay, My Tool Ref. is Maxisys 908 pro you are right. in Autocom software they were able to pass to the airbag Module (by the OBD2 Connector) as the client told me,  Is it possible?

Only thing that can be read from obd2 connector is engine and transmission if it has the 20 pin plug under hood.cover has to be on 20 pin to read obd2. I have factory stuff and only use what the tool lets me. If i plug the GT1 or ISTA to an early car with 20 pin tool does'nt communicate. Kinda forget that plug is out there anymore!

I don't think E46 has 20 pin plug...................20 pin plug is only in old cars before 2000/2001 and most 2002 onwards have 16 pin plug only..........

You are right Ashraf . wasn't sure when they stopped using that plug. Glad they did and Benz much more simple with one plug. Make sure pins are tight and not pushed up,or the plug itself is pushed up and you don't have it in all the way.

This car only have Obd 2 16 pin plug. You have to check wire connection. Maybe it could be some unit that could block the K line and is that you can communicate with other units.

It could so many things. Do you check the fuses?

Actually the car has went out of the Garage now what I can confirm to you that the fault code of passenger seat sensor has been erased (I saw the car when the client came back to me to show me that they were able to enter the Airbag module by the Autocom from the main OBD2 connector)
