I have a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LT with a 2.4 liter engine. My scanner shows "cmmd. A/f equivalence ratio @ 1 and should be 10.....20? Any help would be great :-) !

Try another scan tool. I have found numerous errors with autel. If you doubt the information is correct it may not be. Look at maf and tell me if the data is useless. incorrect units and no detail. Still you may actually have a problem. A good tech has more than 1 scan tool.

In our tool, it reads air to fuel ratio’s in lambda since it will be accurate with any fuel. Most aftermarket gauges will read lambda and convert that number to an a/f ratio for gasoline. If the user then knows the stoic, lean, and rich ratio’s for gasoline, he can apply those numbers to any fuel used and it won’t matter.

Lambda is scale that relates the air to fuel ratio of ANY fuel. 1.0 is stoic for every fuel. (the chemically perfect ratio of air to fuel for a complete burn). However, stoic is different for every fuel. Some fuels may need 14.7 lbs of air some may need 6 lbs of air for a complete burn. Lambda 1.0 is always the perfect ratio for the fuel in use.

Hello, can I ask you what issue(s) you may have had with this vehicle that had you looking into this? Thank you.
