I can do it on oem j2534 but if the maxisys supports it, even better.

What year make and model vehicle? Can you briefly explain what the procedure accomplishes? Does it  establish a baseline before it can start to count specific cylinder misfires?

2014 Ford F150. I believe it relearns the crankshaft position sensor. It has you bring
rpm to about 3100 then you quickly let go of the gas. I used the ford oem software on it
    and no more misfires

Check out this document. It gives a good description. It is essentially a crankshaft
    position sensor relearn

Thanks , I don't know why manufacturers like to use different terminology for basically the same function.

Do you mean the Power Balance function? You can refer to our function list for detailed information: the code for this fucntion is 0023. Then you can check 0023 in each car to see whether it can be supportd or not.

Power balance tests and a crank relearn, or cam/crank relearn are two totally different things. Power balance is a functional test to help determine misfire on a cylinder or group of cylinders. Crank relearn, or cam/crank relearn is a functional reset to relearn the actual position of cam and crank TDC position. Think of the difference as power balance test (pull a plug wire or coil connector ) to find a weak cylinder, and crank relearn, set timing or (remove #1 plug, find piston TDC) and set crank sensor to indicate actual top dead center of #1 piston on the compression stroke. Some PCM's have this function, some do not. If they do, we need to be able to perform this function with a proper scan tool.
I would hope that includes the Autel scan tools available for purchase.

Thanks for the explaination. If it is Crank Relearn or CAM Relearn, these funtions are under development. As our schedule, it can be available in the second half year of 2016.
