     I have tahoe 2009 , 5.3 L engine , the cruise control is not working .
    I have suspected the brake pedal switch ,
    because when I scan it with my maxisys 
    Mini 905 , I have found that the (BPP) brake pedal switch gives "applied" on cruise live data and not changing when I hit the brake pedal . 
    But on another hand the (BPP) is changing "applied/released" on engine live data ??!!!!!
    Why the same varible (BPP) have two different values ???
    however i have checked the brake switch and it is working fine .
    Could you help me in this regard ?

    Read the BCM live data. The brake switch is hard wired to the BCM to disengage the cruise control, that way you know if the switch is working or not.

    in the BCM live data , the brake switch is "applied" always ,
    but i have checked the switch it self by voltmeter it is changing when press the brake,
    also i have checked the BCM input pin and it have the signal from the brake switch correctly .
    but on the maxisys is constant "applied" all the time !!

    do you have any DTC ?
    And to me it's looks like bad BCM  if all test for brake switch ok

     When the cruise quits working, put your foot under the brake pedal and pull up on the pedal and see if the cruise will reengage while holding upward pressure with your foot. This told me my brake pedal switch was bad. Might work for yours as well. Good luck!
