Before you  pull the old PCM , check in special function if Programmable module installation is listed. This function allows you to pull necessary information out of the old pcm and write it to the new one after you install the replacement. If it doesn't work you can always try the J box off a laptop with a OE program and buying a subscription.
  I think someone may have  just done one on a Ford Escape.
