Working on a 2010 VW Tiguan, The steering light and traction control light is on. I have the following codes:
02546- Steering Limit stop-no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation.
00778- Steering angle sensor- no or incorrect basic setting/ adaptation.
Before I throw a new part at it I would like to see if the sensor is reading at all. Please note I have tried the basic setting adaptation procedure multiple times with no success. If anyone has had similar problems please let me know, thank you.

I have tried VAG´s with Maxisys and it´s a nightmare....!

If this (below) doesn´t work, some programming (flash) might solve the problem..

02546 - Steering Limit Stop: No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

    Possible Symptoms

    • Steering Assist OFF

    Possible Causes

    • No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

    Possible Solutions

    • Perform Steering Limit Stop Adaptation
      • Make sure the Ignition is ON and the Engine is Running.
      • Center Steering Wheel (±10°) and hold it centered for about 5 Seconds.
      • Turn Steering Wheel completely to the Left and hold there for about 10 Seconds.
      • Turn Steering Wheel completely to the Right and hold there for about 10 Seconds.
      • Center Steering Wheel (±10°).
      • Switch Engine and Ignition OFF.
      • Switch Ignition ON.
      • Wait about 5 Seconds.
      • Steering Assist Warning Lamp should turn OFF (If it doesn't, perform a short Test Drive).

00778 - See if Measuring Block, Group 004 has live G85 readings. If it does, do the login and see if Basic Settings will run.

    Prerequisites:

    • Start the vehicle.
    • Turn the steering wheel one turn to the right and one turn to the left.
    • Drive in a short distance straight line on a level surface at a speed not higher than 20 km/h.
    • If the steering wheel is straight during the test drive then stop the vehicle with the wheels pointed straight.
    • Ensure that the steering wheel is not moved again.
    • Keep the engine running and do not switch off the ignition.
    • System voltage at least 12.0 V.

Thank for the reply/ I found how to do the procedure but the light is still on. I would like to know where I can see the SAS data, such as steering wheel degree. Thanks again
