Can not communicate with Cobalt to program Keyfobs?!

      The car is a 2007 Chevy Cobalt.  I go in to auto diag, find the menu item that says program keyfob, but it will not communicate with the car.  Did I A) get a dud or B) get a chinese knockoff?  I registered the unit, I'm on wifi, and I downloaded the GM update file. I have a Maxidas DS708.

      How is the internal battery of the key FOB? Did you  test the buttons on the key fob and see if a TS 401 or equivalent that can test RKE output of remote to see if it detects any signal from each button?

     According to Autel tech support, they said its a Chinese unit not meant for US cars.. wonderful!
