my Autel maxicheck is not allowing me to erase codes for SRS with auto key, what should I do?

     I went through the selections all the way to erase codes (my model has auto key), but I'm asked if "ignition on and engine off?" with auto key you can't have ignition on, only off or running engine.
    I engine is off it says that can't communicate, if engine is off I can't erase codes.

    what do I do?

     Try 2 button presses with no brake = ignition on mode (amber light)
