ML629 device USB connection doesn't work

    I am trying to update my ML629 device via USB but the Maxi PC Suite doesn't find the device.  I am holding down the left scroll button when plugging in the USB cable to put it in update mode but it still doesn't work.  The computer doesn't seem to recognize the device.  Any tips?

     To update the ML629 you have to remove the  tf card and use a card reader to connect it to your Maxi PC Suite on your computer. Then you can download your updates. After downloading updates reinstall the tf card into the ML629. The usb cable from the ML629 to your computer is only used to print stored data via the PC Link software.

     I have the same problem. Then why does the box say "Internet updatable via USB"?

     I have the same problem. I can update by removing the micro SD card and connect to the computer with an adapter, Maxi PC suite does then find it and I can update. I thought the USB port was faulty but the device will connect to PC link for printing via the USB port on the unit. There seems to be an incompatibility problem with the USB port and Maxi PC Suite.
    The question is:-
    a) Why does the manual specify that you can update via the USB port?
    b) Why is there a facility to put the device into USB update configuration (left scroll + power on) if you can't update via the port?
    c) Is the client updatable via the SD card or will this be done (if necessary) via the USB port?

    PS: It's a really good versatile tool, very happy with it apart from the issue above which I spent hours trying to figure out  :-)

     An update, I've checked out the other threads and found this one

    The guy did get his USB port to work but on Maxi Suite V1.17!  So it looks like the updated version 1.28 isn't working for the ML629.

    I wanted to try the 1.17 version but couldn't find it :-(
