Tried programming dealer cut pats keys on my 2003 Mazda Tribute. At least 10 times!

Says to unplug the VCI and wait 10 seconds. Then, turn on ign with #1 new,key then wait 3 seconds.Turn off and insert 2nd key, turn on wait 3 seconds then insert 1st key and turn on. 2 keys programmed!

    Not!!
When I insert 2nd key and turn on ign. the, anti theft light starts flashing! I continue the process without results. Antitheft light continues to flash and car won't start.

Arggggg. Maybe I should have bought the Solus...........

Clear the codes from the instrument panel. Do a KAM reset in the PCM and try again. If
it fails, check the codes in the instrument cluster and post them.

Check the key. Program keys in reverse and see if either one makes the antitheft light flash fast. This would mean you have a bad key or a key without a transponder. Either way, it looks like a bad key. If it's not that, the there's something wrong in the theft system.

Both keys are from Ford. Both pats keys. I will check for outstanding codes and get
    back with ya!

Well, pulled a low voltage code from IC. Charged battery and tried again.

Same,results.... First key done, second key inserted and ign turned on then security light flashes.

Then did it 3 more times removing the VCI and the 3 step key process. Same thimg ! Starts flashing when second key inserted to program.

Pulling what hair I have left!!!

Have you tried programming the other key first and see if the samething happens? Most ford cars require 2 keys to program. When you do a parameter reset, it should show you options as to what you have replaced. Makes sure you choose the correct one. The original tool gives you that option. I had a 2000 Navigator that gave me that option. The second key took a few cycles to program. Then it started working.

Forgot to add, Mazda's require an output and input codes. Not sure if this tool bypasses that. Haven't programmed an older mazda with this tool yet. But the original IDS, the software does ask for these codes, then you can do all that security good stuff. Wish I was there to look at this problem and give you a hand. :(

    Didnt request input\output codes??
Its just a rebadged Ford Escape. Should be the same as any other Ford right??
