Power or ground marginal or missing Sounds like the door harness got compromised somehow or you didn't seat some connectors together correctly. My guess is the factory already cheapened stuff down to the bare minimum requirement is trying to get by with smaller gauge copper wiring so a loss of wire strands where door  harness flexes  or in impact area is going  to slow things down or component quits working.
