I am trying to code a key to a nissan qashqai 2010  equipped with proxy key the dealer has given me a code 7743 but it will not work and is locked with p1612 chain of immu and p1610 lock mode any help on the procedure would be great as the car is dead.

Once you're certain all your electrical connections are right, then the fault could be either your bcm or ecm. Check the bcm first.

do you know if a second hand ecu/bcm can be used if it is virginised or reset as the cost of both is more than the value of the car.

Yes, a used one is equally good. If you're replacing the bcm, then you'd have to have another pin code. There is no need to reset or virginise, provided the part number matches. If you post the VIN I could confirm the part numbers.

I think you should leave the original ecm for the moment, and consider the bcm. Your vehicle was manufactured in February 2010 and your bcm p/n is 284B2-JD12B. The donor you have is 284B2-JD12A, and was for those manufactured before yours going back to 2007. So I suspect the donor bcm might not work for your car because it's a previous version. On the other hand an updated version that would work for your vehicle is 284B2-BR01A for those produced till November 2011. I should add that the donor you have now is Siemens, while yours and the later version are Continental. Post the full numbers you have on the original bcm. I'd like to check the pin code.
The p/n for your ECM is 23710-BR40A (new: 23710-BR40B). The donor is an earlier version with 23710-JD78B. As I said, use your original ecm with a replacement bcm. At any rate do not use a part that's an earlier version  to yours.

ok i think it must be the pcm ive just been told the car was reflashed  and lost the immo and injector codes during the process. due to the key not being in the ign switch during the process and relying on the proxy key so my guess is the eeprom in the pcm is corrupt.. and the bcm is ok what are your thoughts.

That makes sense. Try out a replacement ecm, being mindful of the p/n. Could you post the full numbers on the bcm? I'd like to check the pin.
