As long as your Maxi Sys is within it's update period and you have a good internet connection, you can do an auto scan ,read codes ,and live data after the MaxiSys connects to Autel's server and download some sort of file needed to access the codes and data that comes out of modules , but without the 12+8 connector to bypass the SGM , you can't make the modules do any active tests of components or even clear the DTCs.

 IMO shortly before this BS was introduced  I think FCA was actually paying some guy under the table to hack into the a Chrysler vehicles to demonstrate on news media he could take some control away from it's driver to demonstrate  on the news that the electronic systems of cars can be hacked and scare people into thinking that  Teenagers with Nintendo game systems would be able to take control of their car, get their credit card information, and see their naked Selfies from their bluetooth radios,  IMO, Just another Crock of Sh@t Scare Tactic Sh@t they concocted to keep more customer pay work in the dealerships.
