We have a 62 plate fiesta in at the moment. Has anyone had a problem of losing power completely whilst driving. Only happens once when cold(about 5 minutes into a journey) and its fine for the rest of the day. When it happens, if you put the clutch down and rev it, plumes of smoke come out the exhaust, after that its fine. Also has no trouble codes stored or pending.

Thanks for the reply. Its a petrol. We thought it could have been contaminated fuel but
we've cleaned the tank and filled with fresh fuel. We've also tried a new coil pack as
we've had problems with these before.live data shows everything to be normal even
    when the fault occurs!!

Check the coolant temperature sensor readings in live data before you start the car and keep watching it till the fault happens again....

I had a similar problem with a Peugeot GTI-6 once which turned out to be the Oxygen Sensor issue.... diagosed and fixed by main dealer.
