I would think if the special function's  required conditions  are met and the software to perform the function has not been altered so much from the OE software as not  to break the function , then the  full instruction on how to proceed to do the function should be clearly displayed albiet google translate, otherwise consider the function to just be broken or inoperative, but years later still not been removed from the menu that was originally intended to work for us but unfortunately there are so many OE manufacturers in China now with legal pull to put the legal screws to autel if they can't find unique enough work arounds to satisfy bureaucrats., so If the Bean counters deem that 10 year and older cars won't justify it's engineers  time and financial resources be dedicated to finding work arounds and  fixes due the constant legal challenges where things either need to be removed or disabled by a certain dates , the software App  likely has Software Optimization updates done then, and then consider yoursef lucky if it actually still works (even if a message says the function failed,) Try it , it might still work but says it failed throw off the C@ck S@ckin  Lawyers, LOL. No matter how much stuff gets disabled or doesn't work , there's still quite a bit that does work that will save you buying OE Subs and using a J box off a PC , and be awhile until it drops to a StrapOn  level .
