     Can somebody explain what happens when a make a dealer key is chosen as an option, what is the purpose of choosing make a dealer key instead of skipping it

    When you have the original one with you and just adding extra keys is this option needed ?

     You skip if the key to be added is already a dealer key. The option is needed if the extra key is not a dealer key. Here is a video of an instance where the option is skipped.

     I have my original key that I have always had and I just purchased a key to add as a backup. The purchased key of course has never been added to this car, it came of another Audi S8. What is considered a dealer key ?

      A dealer key is a precoded key and once it's locked (programmed) to a car it can't be programmed on another.
