In answering your question, simply no. The SES or MIL lamp came on for a reason. It's important to understand the reason and the ramifications of what it means to simply extinguish the lamp. There exists a "9th" diesel injector (on your engine) in the exhaust path and that's the fuel to burn and "clean" the filter during regeneration. However, if the filter remains blocked or partially blocked, raw diesel fuel can start backing up and "washing" the pistons and cylinders while making additional carbon. This causes premature engine failure and gets very expensive.
Get the engine up to temperature and place a cheese cloth over the tail pipe and rev the engine three times. Inspect the cheese cloth for soot and carbon particles. If there is none and only a light tan stain, the filter is clean your SES, MIL lamp problems are elsewhere. There are several thing to consider (faulty pressure switch, carbon blocked pressure tubes, +5 and gnd absent at the pressure switch (transducer), etc.). Because you're caught in limp mode, you really need a good Chevy or Duramax mechanic.
P.S. Please review GM Service Bulletin: 16-NA-380 and Duramax Publication: Making Sense of your sensors: DPF differential pressure sensor
