I have a 1998 E300 EIS that failed. Mechanic picked up a donor. I tried to read but got a message that the original and the donor EIS were not supported for retrieving the password. It mentioned to go to "Get Password". I did that but got the same message.I had picked up some information about this problem and it came down to reading the coding string of the ECU, then virginize the ECU, virginizing the the ESL, removing the external MCU to download the key dump, virginize the EIS. After returning all the units back to the vehicle, ECU has to be coded with VIN and coding string was downloaded. Then some of the parameters of the EIS have to be adjusted.I am hoping there is a better solution to this.I have the 608 pro with xp400. Wondering if anyone has used Autel for this type of problem?Thanks
