     currently working on a 99 GMC 1500.
    I am trying to check the compression on the motor of the vehicle with my bt608 and clamp tool that was purchased separately. the procedure will not go thru after selecting the motor size and it ask to start the vehicle. a notification is prompted that say that the clamp is not hooked up and will not let me use the function.
    The clap will work with the leakage test but not the compression test.

     Generally an amp clamp that measures leakage (parasitic amperage draw ) would require accuracy of a low amp clamp 0-100A and a relative compression test require a Hi amp clamp like 0-500A range
