Hello, I have a question dealing with battery voltage. My Explorer has a Battery Management System. My battery voltage stays around 12.9 to 13 volts but when I turn things on like A/C it jumps up to 13.7 volts. When I run the total scan I have no faults. When I check the battery in the system it shows its to hold between 10 and 16 volts... is their a way to set the volts to maintain at 14.4 at all times while the SUV is running?

Ford do have a smart charging system which when you start the car first in the morning with cold battery it will be around 16.5 to 17.5 as it gets charged it starts to drop and when any electric components is put to ON it will increase the charging rate but, 10V it looks too low staying around 12.9 to 13 Volts is normal............. How old is your battery................?

It is a smart changing system. My alternator is new, battery is new. Replaced them both due to them going bad. When I first start the SUV in the morning I have around 14.2 volts of power. After a while it drops down to 12.9 to 13 volts. I run a sound system and would like to keep the volts up around 14.4 to 14.8. I am wondering can I program that into my vehicle with my device, the MaxiCOM MK808BT? To bypass the smart charging system so I can have continued 14.4v of power.

NO, you can't do that as it's been controlled by engine ECU automatically........... if you don't have any fault codes or, any warning lights on dash than I would not worry.......

Ok, so I have been somewhat perplexed by this. I'm only ever getting 12.9 to 13 volts after warmup. I have gone through and looked at the live data from the body control module. When looking at the live data when the car is running, the Battery Monitor/ Regenerative Charge State always remains "Inactive". So my batteries and not getting properly charged? I'm new to this with little knowledge of the sort, I just feel like something is not right, I have always had a charge state of around 14.2 volts and now I can't get above 13.
