When reading DTCs for PCM the reader (MaxiDiag Elite) gets to 70% and freezes. It will not go past 70% after leaving it connected for over 1 hour. Anyone have any ideas? This is a stock explorer that does have an aftermarket remote start. The reason for reading codes is smooth idle at start up but loss of power with application of throttle while in Park. Same in Drive. No power. Stumbles. Will not accelerate above 35 mph.

Check the fuses, try another scan tool, try another cable. Check fuel pressure, briefly remove upstream O2 sensors to test  uncorking of  a possible exhaust restriction, or hook up  a pressure gauge to the downstream DPFE sensor hose to see if there is excessive  exhaust back pressure?
