MK808K-BT does not show 1997 Nissan Maxima. Could it work as a 1998 Maxima? I'm trying to clear code for air bag light is on.

    Thanks

Hi, maybe the maxima is just to old,or the airbag light is on because there was a car
accident before? Can you give the airbag code? In some cases after airbag deployment
you have to change the airbag module for a new one dispite the repair of the airbag.

I bought it new in 97. Never been in accident, airbag has never been deployed. It's a gen 4 model that ran through 99. Thx

So did trying to ID it as a 1998 Maxima work?
Some earlier years of OBD2 cars didn't have all it's systems accessed by the under dash 16 pin  connector yet, and still were using some proprietary OBD 1style connectors for certain systems.
Here in the mid west , most old Maximas are long gone, or have lost a lot of weight due to rust rot and now could be considered Minimas, lol

Hi, try it as 1998 model maybe than you can read the airbag code ,given for this
problem than after repair you can clear code. Also what you could check is the
connectors under the front seats they sometimes give problems ,just disconnect and
clean them inside and connect them ,most of the times the problems are solved than.

Hi, check this out, has this car already a eobd connector? It could be that this car still
has obd1 ,officially Nissan started with obd2 for the 1999 model and on.

And if it is still obd1 you can easily reset the airbag light codes by just disconnecting
the battery min cable for a while .
