I am a new users of an Autel MK808 MaxiPro unit.

I want to save the error codes for a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 in the unit.  What I found, and I can't quite make it repeatable, is that I read the error codes, turn off the key and disconnect the cable to the obd2 port and then plug the cable back in and read the codes again.  I then clear the codes.  What ends up in the history of the vehicle is one reading showing the errors and one reading showing no errors. 

Am I doing this right?  I essentially want to save the error code history.  If I read the errors and then reset them right there, when I come back into the history later, it only remembers the reset condition with no codes.  That is why I went to reading twice so I could save the reading with error codes. 

Is there an easier way to do this so I can save the history of the errors only
