I had the same problem, Autel redericted  me to an update in the US instead of EU. So my device was dead (white screen, strange lines and weird numbers etc.) and Autel would not help me over the Phone.

I hope you have some screen left too see , if not try counting your steps and go to update modus again in settings.

goto   http://www.autel.eu/UpdatesDownloads/430.jhtml  for an European update and goto http://www.auteltech.com/autelcms/Code%20Readers&Code%20Scanners/358.jhtml  (downloads) for US update pack for your device.

Install the update pack for your device AL319 again.

Solved my problem .

Just did the latest US update for AL519 and it finally works.

If you have strange lines in your screen after an firmware update, (mostly in settings), change to an other language (top row in settings, 3 choises ), and later back again.

It should be fine now.

Hope the US firmware version from 30 ‎juli ‎2015 is better English then the European language packs, which should be updated by Autel.

And they should fix the problem with the screen when updating the firmware.

Lots of people have problems with this "bug" for years and it is stil not fixed.

If you're problems are bigger then strange symbols after an update :

I had an firmware update crash in the middle of updating , a crash dump and my pc rebooted.

The worst scenario but i managed to recover the device.

Try to navigate to settings and goto row 7 (bottom) for update modus.

and install the previous firmware again (don't forget to select the right device in maxlinkII).
