Did I just read this correctly ? 3 different guys with working used DS708s requested a change of language on their units , But they just got their working existing software basically turned off , and basically told after language change authorization , Ok ,the language you want is now authorized , however your update periods expired in 2014 ,you can't download software in the authorized language, and now your software in the prior language no longer works because the prior language is no longer authorized , so now you have no other choice but to purchase another year of updates. Please confirm that your unit is in the language you asked for and that the old software in the prior language no longer work ... Is this a misunderstanding of translation on my end?
Did you not caution them first before hand that the DS708s update periods were already expired , and they would have to pay for a year of updates before the authorized language got changed? Were you giving advance warning to them to be prepared to spend $700 for a new year of updates if language authorization got changed, or told them after you changed the language authorization ? Not sure how Chinese translates into English in present tense or past tense, but it sounds to me like you changed the language to what they wanted, and then told them they have to buy an update after the language got changed .
If I bought a working used DS708 with an expired update period and found the language was in spanish , and I wasn't able to get the language changed to english for free or a nominal charge I would be angry and take it right back to the seller for a refund , or worst case try and sell it to a Spanish person who can use it at level it is. Support Sorry for my rant if I misunderstood.
