I hate waiting in line just for testing of OBD2 cars for codes. Here in Illinois where the state is broke we thankfully just test only 96 and later vehicles for codes, and they no longer are equipped to run the cars on  dynomometers. Smoke testing intake manifolds and evap  systems fall on us as technicians to find the cause of lean codes and evap leaks, not the state responsibility.
    The state should be more concerned about getting undocumented, uninsured, and Oscar Gropes from getting behind the wheel of an automobile so the testing lanes will be shorter and the roads move better,  roads,  parking lots, side walks, lawns , homes, playgrounds  will all  be safer places to be .
