Support, you stated the DS708 is discontinued.

Is this correct and when wast the MaxiDAS 708 discontinued??

Or did you make a mistake when replying to the question about the MD802 that user jamalnur asked about?

Can you please clarify the status of the MaxiDAS 708 and if it has been discontinued?

So why is the MaxiDAS DS708 still shown on the current Diagnostic Platform??

    http://www.auteltech.com/Automotive%20Diagnostic&%20Analysi/341.jhtml

When and why was the DS708 discontinued and will there still be updates for the tool???

I am not quite going to settle for this answer from the forum when the original question was not very clear.

How about some CLEAR answers from Support and Support should post more info about the MaxiDAS DS708 long term support.

Support, how about clarifying the status of the MaxiDAS DS708 and long term support/updates?

The MaxiDAS DS708 should also be removed from the current product line on the website if this in fact the case.

Support, can you confirm if the MaxiDAS DS708 is a current or discontinued/retired tool?

Simple answer, either is is current or discontinued/retired.

Also what is the support life cycle for this tool?

Eagerly waiting on a reply from Autel Support.

Hello Sir, we had stopped manufacture of DS708, that means, you may not be able to buy it from dealers, and we won't have so frequent updates as Maxisys series. However, some dealers still have DS708 in stock, and many customers are still using DS708, they need product information for it, that's why we have DS708 information on our website.

Support, thanks for the confirmation of the DS708 being discontinued.

Suggest a "sticky" message be put at the top of the MaxiDAS support thread with a clear explanation of the life cycle support of the tool.

I would hope the annual update price would be reduced if there are few updates and/or you provide a 5 year update to the tool owners. Or even better do not sell any more 1 year update subscriptions and then give everyone free updates to the tool for the end of the life support, assuming you will even offer any. This would be very helpful for all the owners that are having SD card failures and they could easily recover their tool and put it back to work hopefully making money for them at their shop.

Kind of false advertising if you "knowingly" sell updates to a tool you do not plan on updating?

Do I sound bitter? Yes, I think many of the MaxiDAS owners kind of feel the same way at this point.

We should not  find out  by just bits and pieces of the tool status spread around a support forum, Autel should be CLEARLY up front about the tools status. It would be very helpful if Support made a CLEAR post here in the Support Forum about the current tool status, how it will be supported going forward, for how long and what the update pricing and strategy will be.

Please manage the MaxiDAS DS708 owners expectations, it will at least allow the DS708 owners know what is going on and it would likely make Supports job a bit easier so this information does not need to be repeated over and over again.
