IMO paying the extra couple hundred to get one with a serial # and register password as being one in the EU data base as one of their official units better insures you will get full support from someone that you can understand on the phone in your Geographic area for support and less chance you won't have to ship unit back to a seller in Mainland China for repairs.
Here in USA , before I even connected my new unit to internet, I called USA Autel support with the serial number and register password to make sure it was never previously been registered before and had all 2 years of the update period and that it is a unit # authorized in USA retailer database that would receive full USA support.
