No, but a MS908 will become just a MS908P if you do pair a Maxi Flash Pro or Maxi Flash Elite to it and if either box is new you should be able to do BMW and Mercedes module flashes and coding for the remainder of your current update period. From then on there be no going back to MS908 and MS908P updates will cost you $400 more than a regular MS908.So hopefully you have the need to flash at least one Beemer or Benz a month to make it worth the update expense. I personally wouldn't pair a new Maxi Flash Elite to a MS908 unless I had almost a full year of my update period remaining for my tool. I would call support and ask questions , especially if you obtained the Maxi Flash Pro or Elite Used. You might end up just making the cost of your next update more expensive because it is now a 908P but since you obtained the Maxi Flash Elite or Pro used you might not have the benefit of BMW and Mercedes programming. I would think you should still be able to update the VCI firmware version from the tablet.
