vin decode failed

i recently purchased a ms906bt and i (believe) it is currently updated. on an 04 kia sedona it wouldnt auto read the vin but manually entered it went thru. however on a 00 ford f450 it says "vin decoding failed" during auto read and when manually entered. is the f450 powerstroke beyond the ms906bt (i.e. commercial vehicle)? or am i missing something?the vci was showing connected so i assume the obd port has power.on another autel unit ive used there was an occasional (apparently random) vehicle it wouldnt decode. is this common? -

im still wondering onn this problem. talking to a local tech i know the ford trucks can sometimes be difficult . ive also had this issue with other vehicles since my first post.a couple wouldnt auto read the vin but manually entered it decoded and all went ok.the 00 ford powerstroke it wouldnt decode either way. is there any rhyme or reason to which vehicles will and wont read the vin? the ones it wont read or decode vin,what could be the issue?
