Was the battery in a low state of charge at the time you did update? I generally like to have all other background apps closed before starting updates with the battery near 100 % or voltage stabilized with the charger plugged in while doing updates or software backups requiring high CPU usage
.During software backup where it is going on for hours, I wrap a 10" plastic block of blue ice in a plush dry cotton towel that can breath to try to keep things running cooler inside a Chinese tablet with no fans inside during high CPU usage, but careful not to get it too cold with moisture condensation happening
