    At first we were thinking that Maxidiag series was a updatable product but you have to pay for the update fee. Then we found out there are some hardware restrictions to this series, so we develop a new model, Maxidiag Elite. We have changed the whole software structure for this new model, so it is impossible to move the software to the old Maxidiag series. Considering the high cost for a update annual fee, I think it is a more popolar idea to purchase a new model, which just costs 100 more.

    these sucks because autel keeps on selling md801 with no updates.

    The last MD801 order is over a year ago. We are doing promotions for our new products, and MD802 is much better than MD801.

    Reply to 15 floor: Even if you sold the last MD801 in 2012, the latest software was already 4 years old then. Cars are supported only up to 2008 by MD801 (and most of the JP701/EU702/US703/FR704, sometimes only up to 2006). I think it is no good business to sell products with old software, promise the custumers that updates will be available, but never make and offer/sell these updates. Instead of this you are just saying: "sorry, we don't give support anymore, but please buy our new product"? I think that you will cancel support for MD802 when you offer next new product. As you made it now with the MD801. Why should I aspect something other? And why should be the MD802 be "much" better than the MD801? Because of color graphic? I don't need. I (and many others) just want a current software. It couldn't be that hard to make the software from MD802 working on MD801. And what do you think about environment? Throw away a working product because you don't hold your promises? "Green business"? Only green from the dollars you earn by cheating your customers?

     I am appalled at your attitude for your MD801 product updates, if your can't or won't supply an update for this model then perhaps you should give owners of the MD801 a HUGE discount to purchase the updated model, although I highly doubt that anyone will continue to purchase a product with such poor (NO) commitment to after sales service.

     Hi Since MD801 has been discontinued for a long time, engineers do not develop new software for it any more, therefore, we are not able to provide new update. Besides, please buy our products from authorized distributors who won't sell discontinued products to ensure warranty and update. Some dealers may sell discontinued products or even fakes, which are beyond our ability. Please understand.

      I would have to say it would have been nice to see even one update I bought my md801 just as the 802 was available but never seen an update I seem to remember inquiring about an update several years ago but never got a response
