Powerstroke contribution test 01 excursion says error

     I have an 01 excursion 7.3 powerstroke and when I try to do a cylinder contribution test or many other tests for thag matter it continues to say it cannot communicate. Any help would be appreciated

     I am having the same problem and it also on shows 6 cylinders on one menu and it will only buzz test 6 cylinders and my OTC buzz test all 8  PLEASE HELP
