      Is this an automatic transmission model? On Daihatsus, p1706 is usually related to a transmission fault or a fault with one of the trasmission switches.

     hello!!!  I want to know if you fix your terios, because I have the same problem now, the computer send me the code p1706, and the car only use the 3er.  please help!!!

    Check for other dtcs in the engine system, the transmission is in failsafe mode
    because of engine related codes.
