Are ALL Updates Required? (MD802)

    Hi.  I only want to use the MD802 for 2014 Ford Focus, and 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan (for now). 

    I purchased the MD802 unit last week and it appears to have Firmware V1.01, System Software Version V4.40, Hardware Version V1.00, and Manufacture date: 7/23/2014.  When I joined the community I noticed that of the 22 available 'updates', there are none that apply to Ford or Dodge (Chrysler). So I did NOT update.  Is there any reason I need to take any of those other updates?

     Hello RalphL,

    You do not need to update all the software. You will need to install the only required software for the vehicle you are working on. It will not effect on the vehicles you are working on. You will need update for Ford for latest update.

    However it is recommended to updates other vehicles in case you need to work on other vehicles. You can choose to do those updates with another back up sd card if want to.

    I had another post under here: http://pro.auteltech.com/autelsupport/Diagnostics/16905.jhtml?createrId=255341&view=1 where I asked why the EPB does not appear for Chrysler...does my question make sense?
