Have a customer who has a 2006 Charger with a defective PCM, he replaced PCM and I coded the Skim to the PCM's vin number to make sure it would fix the problem. The new/used PCM seems to have solved the problem, but now I need to change the vin number on the replacement PCM. Two questions, will the DS708 be able to do this?  and is there any info on how to do it?Thanks in advance,
    Tim

Soory, guess I should have stated that I changed the Vin number in the skim with a DMAX...  I am a locksmith and have replaced many skim's and skreem's, but this is the first time I have tried to change the PCM.  Thank you for the info on changing the vin number in the pcm.. My plan is to change the vin back to the original in the skim module and change the vin to the cars vin in the new/used pcm... Do I need to start with the original defective pcm in the car first, or will I be able to just put the new/used pcm in and change the vin?
Thanks in advance for your help, I just purchased my DS708 last week and have not had a chance to play with it much..

You hit on the problem exactly... I like your idea...  I think I will pull the PCM out and program the skim back to the original vin, then unplug the skim and plug in the new/used PCM and change the vin on that..
    Thanks for the input,
    Tim

Soooo, I went to change the VIN on the PCM today...  I first changed the VIN back to the original on the SKIM, then went thru the menus and found misc under PCM options, clicked on, check/change VIN, it comes up with a screen saying this will let you check or change the VIN in the PCM, click continue, it brings up a screen that says it is a valid VIN, no way to change it, just an esc button...  Tried to start the car thinking it would throw a code and tell the PCM it is the wrong VIN, but no change..  The car just started and died.. read the codes and saw, wrong SKIM key..  Put the original PCM back in the car and fired it up, same problem as before, the 02 sensors are open... Put the new/used PCM back in and tried again... no joy...  Rewrote the SKIM to the new/used PCM's VIN and the car stared and ran well.. Looks like I just spen $1,300.00 on a glorified OBD2 code reader...  Maybe I am missing something...  I have a J2534 pass thru that I am going to buy a 3 day license to Chrysler tech.. hope that works...  There has to be someway to change the VIN on a used PCM...
Any and all ideas are welcome...
    Take care,
    Tim
PS, I have the Abrites for VW and Mercedes..  works awesome..  Have you tried it for Chrysler?
