     when is it necessary to use the Chrysler adapter instead of the standard OBD2 plug??? thanks I advance Jeff

     Hi. The only time I was required to use the Chrysler Adapter was when my Scanner told me to use it. Other wise i just use the Standard  OBD2 plug in. Hope this helps

      It is not necesary for engine diagnostics, Chrysler OBDII adapter is needed for modules that use CCD protocol, generaly body and chassis controllers from 1996 to early 2000's
