Ok. Heres whats happening.
Went to www.keytechtools.com and input the Pin from the bcm. Got both the old code and the new code that it processed for me. Put the original key into the slot and did the steering lock release. Tried it numerous times to make sure I was hitting the push button start quick enough. Even tried with my foot on the brake and off the brake. Got the same message every time:
Steer-Lock Release (Key ID Erase)
Not Completed
Confirm the following conditions then perform
Steering Lock Release (Key ID Erase) again.
*Password is correct
*Ign off and hazard switch are on
*Steering Lock Release (Key ID Erase) with not done.
Security indicator does not blink after sign off. Go to next step in OPM (NATS-IVMS/NVIS).
I still can't get any power when I press the run button for the scanner to show the i/c initialization option under the NATS screen. If I try to go to the Intelligent Key under the BCM on the scanner it won't let me in saying that the tester can't communicate with the vehicle.
I also tried disconnecting the battery terminals and touching them together for about 10 seconds and tried again with the same error message.
