     hi i could't get coms with maxisys on this car does it need a can adapter?

    You don't need  adapter for that particular year. Adapter is needed for modules that use CCD Bus found in older vehicles. Chrysler PCM controllers used SCI bus and  didn't use CCD, but Body systems did. CAN system replaced all of that on newer cars.  Are you able to start the vehicle?

     yes the car starts and runs but the engine light comes on sometimes. my maxisys after trying for a couple of minutes it showed the no coms 
    message. the car is automatic and in the uk

    I don't remember having communication problems with Maxisys on Jeeps from that year, but it could be Maxisys software, to find out you need to use a different scanner and see if you can get communication with PCM.

     jeep is not in the list of american cars covered by my maxisys i am in the uk so you have cover for it in the usa?

     Jeep is covered under Chrysler diagnostics, just select Chrysler instead and you should have full Jeep access.
