    Hi  yall,

I have a maxisys.  I was going to program an addtional key since my customer lost one.  When i go into pats in runs through the ten minutes and then says "security access granted".  Mind you When i go through the timer I have the new key in the ignition as that is what is says to do.  Once I have security access, i goto program additional ignition key.  The maxisys comes up and says "operation was successful", yet the key still will not start the vehicle.  ANY ideas?

    Ryan

Make sure you have the unprogrammed key in the ignition before entering pats
system. Try that and report back please.

Sorry you already said that. Well 2 things left either a software bug or the adding
aditional keys is disable from pats. You could use the feature were it deletes all keys
then program the 2 in your possesion but what if the tool won't work to program them.
I wouldn't risk it. What I would do is although it is not the correct way, I will log in to
pats with the programmed key and try adding one again then swap keys You just may waste another
    10 minutes worse case scenario.

I just remember autel said from 2013 and up ford pats will only be available for the
908p I have no idea why and it makes no sense to me.

     Hello,

Not sure why they told you. From the info from motorcraft service, most 2013 and up require entering pin prior to going into PATS for programming keys.

Hi Erik  yes there is a post here back from a month or 2 ago where autel support says it will only be available for the 908p. I have done a couple still with pats and no pin codes, out code/incode or any kind of codes. I don't know exactly which ford vehicles comes with immobilizer but so far I have not ran into one.
i have been reading this on the ford site for quite some time now too but i have not seen one yet. this is usa ford I know in other areas they have been using pin codes, out code in code for ever but am not aware of a usa model yet on 2013 or any year for that matter. if it says pats then it is pats not immobilizer that i know of.

So heres what I have now. I agree im not going to risk it not being able to program keys if I erase.  This was a customer supplied key and I have verified the number inside key.  Though what is suspicious  is i tried to program the remote portion of the key.  When in programming mode I can hit the buttons on both remote leu heads and they both work bit when i turn ignition off to exit remote programming the only remote that works is the original.  Has anyone on here done a 2013 taurus with a maxisys? It seems like it still has pats and not the immobilizer.  Its weird it says successful on add a key but when you goto start the car it is not programmed.  I AM STUMPED???

this is the correct procedure using ids try it with your maxisys.  for pats procedure #2

1 turn key on with the unprogram key
    2 enter security access pats
3 select ignition key code progam
4 disconnect tool and leave the ignition on for 20 seconds

if this procedure doesn't work we have a bad software for sure despite anything they say.

I have the pdf procedure  from ford for all model years up to 2013, check my new post

yes im at ford dealer and never had to enter an in code/out code.i have done hundreds and hiundreds of keys.even 2015 models don't need pin codes,so no reason only available to the 908p.cycle key off disconnect tool and let sit like ede said, but also turn key to on position for at least 10-20 seconds, got burnt one time with maxisys and this seemed to work not sure why but exactly as you mention is what happened to me.good luck
