I believe this is something with timing? Dont see this code listed for Nissan. -

It could be the timing chain is stretched..................
Engine mechanical problems
- Incorrect timing chain
- Stretched timing chain
- Failed camshaft actuator or actuator solenoid

I have a friend that has a v6 Altima that burns oil and when the oil is dirty and level gets real low the service engine light would came on with VCT codes -

Possible causes of OBD code P0008This error basically means the engine is out of Sync. Stop using the vehicle without delay! The Camshaft and Crankshaft are out of position or at the very least think they are. Engine timing may be out and thus your engine is in danger of complete destruction. At the very least a camshaft sensor maybe down..................
Means the Timing Chain is Stretched..........
