I made a printout of the codes stored in my BMW F10 528i 6cyl. 3.0 l and gave them to my BMW dealer. However the dealer is unable to recognise the codes of my MD802 (I performed an all systems auto scan). The y stated that the codes the MD802 displays differ from the codes they get from their diagnostic system. Could you please explain? Is there a list of MD802 codes that translates the MD802 codes into codes a BMW dealer will recognise?

     Thanks Ashraf,

Below the latest fault codes and descriptions. My 528i F10 is suffering from battery problems. The battery drains very quickly while the car is just standing in front of my garage, locked. The dealer has replaced the battery twice now in 1-1/2 years time, but does not seem to be able to find the root cause of the problem. The first 3 fault codes below did not show before and are not known yet to my dealer.

    Fault codes

213601      Intermittent   Power management: closed-circuit current violation

800EA5     Intermittent   Operating unit, switch centre for door (SZT): Signal button invalid

801222      Intermittent   Air conditioning compressor: Switch-off due to missing DME/DDE release

A387         Present          TCU: Fault, Bluetooth antenna

Air conditioning and bluetooth appear to work fine and the dealer replaced the front left door switch panel.

    1) Have you checked to see if your heater blower resistor is not faulty and causing blower motor to stay ON at very low speed......?

    2) Try disconnecting the Heater Blower Resistor wire over night and see if that helps

I am willing to try anything. Where do I find the heater blower resistor wire, so I can disconnect it?

I do not have any wiring diagram.

Look on right hand side near the clutch pedal or under the Radio............But, the best bit is to go to the dealers and ask them where exactly the  Heater Blower Speed Resistor location is..........

Look in the blow link and you will get the idea...................

     Thanks Ashraf,

Nice thread on Bimmerfest, but I do not think this is the problem with my car. The blower of my F10 is operating fine and it does not show any erratic behaviour. Is there any other circuit you would suspect based on the fault codes I posted?

well I know its working fine but you will not know if the Resistor is shorting internally which will happen when you close your doors the blower will be running at a very very slow speed and over the time it will drain your battery so, just to make sure that is not your problem I would advice you to just UN-plug the resistor plug and see.........It is a very common fault on 3 and 5 series BMW.............

     Thanks Ashraf,

Do you know wheter it also applies to the F10? I could not find any reference to that type of 5 series.
