97 land cruiser maxis pro can't read the vin

    I try too read the vin in 97 land cruiser but can't read in auto mode try manual and the same happen , I don't if someone have the same problem
    PLEASE HELP

     Some older Toyota products still may  require using a Toyota adapter for a connector under the hood and probably did not even have the vehicle VIN # in PCM  yet.

     Yesterday I worked on two Toyota Avensis and both were 2005/6 model and non of them could read the Vin Number.........After doing an Auto Scan it did detect the immobilizer System but, when I tried to read fault code it try to read but, then it says NO Communication..........I am also using the new updated software which says the Vin reading options have been improved but still have its problems..............

    1. Improved Auto VIN function for Avalon, Echo, Solara and other older models.
2. Fixed bugs that caused incomplete displaying of models under USA and Japan menus in no communication status. 
3. Improved some special functions, such as Zero Point Calibration & Sensitivity Check, Air Bleeding, and Vehicle height sensor automatic adjustment.
