1999 E320 reset the Airbag/ SRS computer

    MaxDAS DS708 
    1999 Mercedes E320 gas left hand steer  While trying to reset the SRS/ Airbag computer I get the following Message " FAULT MEMORY COULD NOT BE ERASED. TH PRECONDITIONS FOR CLEAR CODE WERE NOT MET!"
    The vehicle had the battery replaced and this came up after the install. I sent in a DATA LOG .
    I re scanned after I updated the BENZ file and still get the same message. 
    What are the PRECONDITIONS? 
    Live data shows all sensors working and the error codes show STORED.

     Was the Airbag light ON before you disconnected the battery............?
