No it doesn't actually reprogram a new calibration into a Chrysler PCM .... It will however allow you to go into the Skim module and perform a pcm replacement function in where it will ask you for the pin code and once entered it will take the vin out of the skim and program the pcm with it. Then it will transfer the key information over to the pcm, next perform a key cycle and it will start. This is providing that the used pcm has the correct part number and correct calibration for the vehicle you are working on. Also you must use the Chrysler adapter for a 2001.

The word " flash " gets used a lot in this industry yet many people don't know what it really means. Kevin is correct, it will let you setup a pre programmed/flashed module if you have the vehicle's pin codes. If you need to update the pcm's software then you would need a pass-thru tool or the oe factory tool.
