    According to the AL539B manual: 

     NOTE: If the resistance of circuit is less than 50 ohm, the scan tool would display actual value and a beep would be heard.

    This does not seem to be true when using the continuity function to measure resistance of 6 ohms it reads 1.6 ohms instead is this a firmware bug ?  

    can someone confirm this please?

     looks to be a problem with firmware in the AL539B..... readings are out by a factor of 4 on continuity


    e.g 4 ohms is read as 1 ohm and 8 ohms is 2.... etc.
