new al619 doesn`t read ABS/SRS on any of the vehicles I used it on

I just received my new al619 which I bought specifically for reading SRS codes, It won`t read the SRS or ABS codes on any of the 3 vehicles I tried on.
Did I just buy an extremely overpriced plain old OBDII scanner? why won`t it read SRS/ABS codes?
I don`t really any use for another OBDII scanner so if you can`t tell me how to get the SRS/ABS functions to work I`ll return it for a refund.
It didn`t work on the following vehicles:
1997 Ford F150
1998 chevy s10 blazer
199 chevy suburban -

Sorry, I don't have a solution. I only have the same issue. 2008 Silverado with an airbag light. Purchased the AL619 to read the code and determine what sensor has an issue. The scanner is communicating and reading info but reporting that there are no codes or issues present.
